Ketogenic Diet Diary – 2017
Week 1 – 6th March – 12th March
Lost 7lbs In 7 Days!
4 Days On Keto
I am counting this as WEEK 1 even though the first three days was a fruit and veg cleanse.
So I totally changed my eating habits 7 days ago when I began eating just fruit and veg for three days. I stuck to the plan and things went quite well although it was no fun just eating fruit and veg and drinking water all day.
I then started on a ketogenic diet on the fourth day and have stuck to it all the way up to the end of the week. I am happy to announce that in that time I have lost 10 pounds. I have also lost some size on all areas of my body and you can see the numbers below.

LEFT THIGH: – 25 Inches
RIGHT THIGH: – 24 ¾ inches

So just by looking at these measurements you can see that I definitely lost some inches. The interesting thing is that I am not even in Ketosis yet and so a lot of that weight will be water weight but it just goes to show you that even before you get into the Ketosis state you will lose weight. I lost roughly 7 pounds in 7 days which is not too bad.
KETOGENIC DIET DAY 1
I thought the first day was pretty easy as far as getting on with the diet. I already had prepared everything the day before and so all I had to do was keep myself busy during the day so as not to think too much about food.
The only thing I had trouble with was getting my head round the fact that I will not be eating any kind of candy and cakes again. These are the types of comfort foods that seemed to help me with my depression. It was a psychological thing because eating those types of sweet things made me feel “normal”.
The depression was actually pretty bad these first few days. I was feeling a little off generally over the past few weeks mainly due to stuff going on in my life and so I knew I would be hit with a bunch of depressive episodes.
KETOGENIC DIET DAY 2
Not a great start to the day mentally. I felt very low and basically had another depressive episode that lasted for about an hour. As far as eating goes I had enough things to eat and didn’t feel hungry at all during the day.
The evening was pretty bad because I was craving sweets and a nice cup of English tea. I used to drink a milky cup of tea after every meal and with that tea I would have a piece of cake or a chocolate bar or anything sweet and tasty. Those days are over now and it was hard…this was my comfort food…it made me feel at home and kind of kept my depressive thoughts at bay.
KETOGENIC DIET DAY 3
Similar to Day 2 but I had a very hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep. I think the Keto Flu was kicking in because I felt nauseous, dizzy and my stomach was rumbling as though I had eaten something bad.
I got out of bed and drank a few ounces of water as well as a cup of chicken broth to try to replenish some of my electrolytes. It did the trick because after about thirty minutes my stomach stopped rumbling and my brain stopped working overtime with thoughts I could do without.
KETOGENIC DIET DAY 4
I woke up feeling ok considering my bad night. I had my usual 2 cups of warm water before getting stuck into a breakfast of 2 rashers of bacon, 1 boiled egg, a slice of tomato and a cup of chicken broth.
